The full moon on 23rd March 2016 was masked by cloud from my viewpoint, but it still provided a bright glow through the sky’s blanket.
The March full moon is known as the Worm Moon. In the northern hemisphere the earth is warming up and the earthworms are reappearing, attracting the birds that feed upon them. It is also called the Sap Moon, as the tree sap is starting to rise. Normally each season (the time between an equinox and a solstice) has three full moons, but this season is going to have four.

Thank you for the information. Now I know what our full moon this evening is called. It will no longer be just another full moon.
