July 19th will see a full moon. The full moon for July was known as the Buck Moon as this was the month that deer bucks started to grow their antlers.
It was also sometimes called the Thunder Moon. Here in the northern hemisphere the summer heat often triggers thunderstorms and downpours at this time of year. Indeed the UK is forecast to have a mini heatwave with temperatures up to 35 degrees celsius (95 in fahrenheit) with warnings put out for heavy rain and thunder.
July is an especially important month for moon fans; July 20th 1969 saw mankind, represented by Neil Armstrong, set foot on the moon for the first time.
