Green Shoots

Compared with other parts of the UK my snowdrops are slacking. They are only just starting to poke their green shoots above ground.Photo of green snowdrops shoots sprouting

The flowering currant might yet burst forth before them.Photo of flowering currant bud

  1. Can’t wait to see the snowdrops, RR. They are so pretty……..and so are the bluebells in the U.K. I well remember the massive blue colour in the woods in Sussex in 1978.

I only used to see them in the Botanic Gardens here – they are not around this current home. I guess residential gardens in these new estates tend to plant more formal flower species or even natives.

  2. It’s the same here – still waiting for snowdrops! if it stops raining this morning I’ll go out and have another look (though the birds will be cross if I scare them off the feeder 😉 )
